Earlier this month, Otakon (the anime convention) commissioned me to design this years' shot glasses! I was very excited and it was a fun project.
Otakon's theme this year is time travel, so they wanted their mascots to look the part. Hiroko (on the left) is dressed as a Futurist Harajuku, while Hiroshi (on the right) is dressed in Steampunk attire. They have time portals behind them, with Hiroshi's in the shape of a gear to reinforce the steampunk feel.
This is pretty much what they should look like on the blue shot glasses (i.e. the lineart was inverted to mimic what the screenprinting would look like).
Both images were done in Illustrator for the cleanest possible lines.
Copyright Info: Otakon gave me permission to post the artwork I made for their shot glasses. Otakorp (Otakon) owns the copyright to this artwork and the mascots depicted, Hiroko and Hiroshi. All copyright goes to Otakorp.
Those are adorable! Will they send you a set of the shot glasses since you can't go? I think it would be nice if they did so you can have the finished product to show off as well as the designs.
AAHHH I so want some! I'd put them to good use on the weekend!

If you can't get a set from them, would like someone to pick you up a set and send them to you? I'm in Artist Alley this year, and my associate will be in the dealer's room, and can get me in early. Just as an option, because you're so wonderfully awesome.
